The Nokia Stage is located in Shed 6 only 50 metres from the Jim Beam Rock Stage and with this years confirmed line-up you'd be crazy if you didn't check it out.

Whether it's Head like a Hole reuniting, the guarantee of a great performance from The Checks or unquestioned talent of Bang Bang Eche, the Nokia Stage showcases 8 of the country's finest indie and rock acts.

 Head Like A Hole
From 1992 to 2000 Head Like A Hole forged a following as one of New Zealand's finest rock acts with a fierce reputation for their full noise live shows! Not many bands rock like Head Like A Hole so expect a packed venue when they take to the stage for their first gig in over 8 years. This one will be epic!
 WETA
Wellington band WETA formed in 1995 and soon secured slots with Everclear, The Foo Fighters, Shihad & Soundgarden. They broke up in 2001 but are now back together bringing an undeniable presence to Vodafone Homegrown, a set jammed full of classic tracks and the perfect lead in to Head like a Hole.
 Dimmer
Dimmer eventually arose from the ashes of Straight Jacket Fits. 'I Believe You Are A Star' was voted album of the year in 2001 by The NZ Herald & the next one 'You've Got To Hear The Music' received critical acclaim along with a NZ music award. With album #4 about to hit the shops there's no doubt they will be great to catch.
The Checks The Checks
If their was a shoping list of bands to play at Vodafone Homegrown The Checks would be near the top of the list.  They got the crowd amping at the last Homegrown and if they are good enough to be asked to open for Oasis, REM, Jet & Muse they are definitely worthy of another premium spot on the Nokia stage.
 Fur Patrol
Hailing from Wellington, but mostly living in Melbourne now, Fur Patrol have been around since 1996 & have toured with Shihad, Weta and was support act for The Dandy Warhols. 'Lydia' from their debut album 'Pet' hit No1 and was the most played song on the radio in 2000. Check out their new album!
 Bang Bang Eche
With a reputation for no-holds-barred live shows, expect a full throttled perfromance at Homegrown with these guys. After dominating the bNets in 08 with their No1 hits '4 To The Floor' & 'Nikee' the Christchurch dance punks went international in October, after being flown to New York for the CMJ Music Festival.
 Tiger Tones
They describe themselves as "bargain basement dance punk" which is pretty much bang on. This 4 piece band from Christchurch got together in 2006 and were nominated for the Bnet Breakthrough Artist of the year award in 2007. If you haven't seen them before check em out on the Nokia stage.
The Coshercot honeys The Coshercot Honeys
The Coshercot Honeys are welcomed back to Vodafone Homegrown, with a notorious reputation for prompting some of the best let-you-hair-down boogies in town. Their single 'We're Not Lions' hit No. 1 on BFMs Top Ten chart and they've now released their debut album under the same name.
Knave Knixx DJ Knave Knixx
One of Wellington's finest when it comes to slaying crowds with an eclectic mix of rock and indie tunes. Knave Knixx will be keeping things moving in between bands with his massive bag of vinyl and enough music, new and old to keep the crowd begging for more.

Individual Stage Capacity

Each stage has a limited capacity and during the day access is on a
first come first serve basis.

Tickets to Vodafone Homegrown are strictly limited and we're keeping numbers down to try and make sure everybody can see the bands they want to see, but if you've got a favourite band it can't hurt to get there a little early just in case.
