With a new location in beautiful Waitangi Park; the Dub & Roots stage is going to get a lot more lush in 2010 with more room to move, more food choices and plenty of grass to kick back on.

Plus we've still got one more big act. So what's already pretty damn good is going to get even better!

Once again the stage will be under a massive marquee which can handle up to 7,000 people. If the weather is mint, we'll open up the marquee and let the sunshine in while everybody soaks up the tunes.

Kora

The headline act is none other than the brilliant Kora, returning for their 3rd Homegrown much to the delight of many we are sure. Kora's debut album shot straight to the No1 slot on the Official NZ charts. Their power packed live performance is not to be missed so get to the stage early.

 The Black Seeds                      
Ahh The Black Seeds...No introduction really needed. We all know their catchy, summertime blend of soul, funk, reggae & dub sounds which always puts a smile on your dial. We're privileged to have them back on the Dub & Roots stage as they help close out an amazing day of New Zealand Dub, Roots and Reggae talent.
Salmonella Dub                                 
Salmonella Dub's history and pedigree speaks for itself. At Jim Beam Homegrown look out for a mix of Salmonella Dub favourites mixed up with some highly regarded new material, including their new EP 'Freak Local'. Also look out for a few extra guests on stage to add to the flavour & mix up the Salmonella sound.
Ladi6                               
With her sublime, souful voice this is one lady who you just gotta see. She is renowned for her energetic live performances & her debut album 'Time is not Much' won Best Urban/Hip Hop Album at the 2009 NZ music awards, & a finalist for Best Female Solo Artist. If you haven't seen her live...here's your opportunity to sort that out!
Katchafire                                     
Huge selling roots reggae act Katchafire are back for another crack at Jim Beam Homegrown...yeah! Their set at the start of the day last time was packed, with everyone lapping up the sunshine and the Katchafire sound. Nobody does roots and reggae as well as Katchafire and we're stoked to have them back in 2010.
 Opensouls                                    
Opensouls have been busy winning over music lovers with their fresh, infectious energy. Infused with Mowtown elements of soul & old skool RnB, the bands unique sound is due to a collaborative effort from its seven hugely talented members. Their critically acclaimed album 'Kaleidoscope' is out now - buy it!
Sunshine Sound System
Comprised of the legendary DJ Downtown Brown and his trusty MCs KPz and Staun, the Sunshine Sound System have developed a road-tested recipe for good times - Downtown holds it down while KPz and Staun roll over the top with their unique tag-team vocal styles. It's 5 star stuff!
Manuel Bundy
Very few DJ's lay it down like Manuel. With more experience, more skills & more smooth tracks than just about any other DJ plus a reputation for 'playing if for the ladies'. His soul infused set will be the perfect way to start the day at Homegrown.
